Marine Robotic Technologies Ltd is introducing an innovative technological solution for the maritime sector, with a focus on preventative hull maintenance using autonomous self-powered marine robots. Aligned with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Frameworks, the MRT robotic solution liberates greater fuel efficiency and significant emission reduction for vessels.
Dry-docking intervals for hull maintenance including cleaning result in loss of revenue due to long operation cycles, high labour intensity, and high cleaning costs, this in turn leads to less time for the vessel to be underway.
The centralised booking system and international network of service providers, employed by Marine Robotic Technologies Ltd, will ensure vessels can continuously maximise revenue, reduce time spent in port or at anchor, and significantly reduce ecological contamination from the destructive transfer of invasive species found on hulls.
The patented, sustainable alternative
The maritime sector has been relatively slow to attract technology with sustainable principles at the core. Marine Robotic Technologies Ltd is about to change this with a patented design for an autonomous marine robot which is attached to ferrous ship hulls of small, medium and large vessels with magnetic affixation.
The robot generates its own power from the hydrokinetic movement of the ship through the water or even from waves. No external power source, fuel or external wiring is required, which contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GSG) emissions such as CO2, NOx and SOx through greater fuel efficiency. Excess power is stored for transition points in low cost batteries.
